Dulha Mil Gaya is a 2010 Bollywood romantic comedy film directed by Mudassar Aziz. It stars Sushmita Sen, Ishita Sharma and Fardeen Khan in the lead roles whilst Shahrukh Khan makes an extended appearance. It was released on 8 January 2010 and was one of the first Bollywood releases of 2010 (the other being Pyaar Impossible!, which released on the same day). Dulha Mil Gaya was panned by critics and did poorly at the box office, earning back roughly half its budget.

STORY: Diehard bachelor, Fardeen Khan is forced to marry village girl, Ishita Sharma to fulfil the demands of his father’s billion dollar will. It’s left to supermodel, Sushmita Sen to make the mismatched marriage actually work by transforming the gaon gi gori into an uptown diva. Also, she must find time for her own romance with a golden-hearted billionaire, Shah Rukh Khan.
REVIEW: The problem with Dulha Mil Gaya lies in the fact that it has nothing new to offer. And that’s ironical at a time when almost every film that falls off Bollywood’s conveyor belt is brimming over with newness: new ideas, new plots, new musical notes, new actors, new narrative styles. Unforgivable.

The Jassi jaisi make-over isn’t the only old hat in this film. It’s the good ole gaon ki gori syndrome that fills you with a sense of deja vu too. When playboy Fardeen Khan summarily dismisses his newly-wed wife, Samarpreet (Ishita Sharma) and leaves her in the backwaters in Punjab, while he returns to his one-night stands in Trinidad, you know he’s going to crawl back on all fours to the principled and preachy Punjabi kudi before curtain call.
